I witnessed this grandeur…. Prayagraj becomes one big Live Organism then…
There is a continuous influx and outflux of millions and millions of people who are supposed to tread on fixed route on meagerating roads…this is done intentionally by the civic authorities to mainatain law and order and to avoid confusion. Everything and everyone is on the move…
The city is awake 24*7..
Locals sit with homemade snacks , sharbats and tea outside their homes..to feed the hungry and thirsty pilgrims….

Every pilgrim is headed towards MA GANGA…to take that holy dip…on certain special dates there is literally tsunami of humans on this land…
MELA-GROUND is layed out very meticulously…with temporary establishments, govt offices, police stations, fire stations, dharmshala, guest houses, hotels, pandals, ashrams, shops, public toilets …..🏪🏥🏪
ALL TEMPORARY…for a month. The streets are cut at right angles..fully lighted. Eateries with pakodas, chai, litti choka, poodi sabji, jalebi ,samosas….🥙🧆🥨🫕
List is unending…. ✨
Various AKHADAS with whole clan live there the whole month..
There are big sadhus, small sadhus, hermits ,nagads, no sadhus…who stay there for whole month practicing austere rituals and are called KALP-WASI….🎪🎪🎪
Magical world it is….indeed.💫💫
There are PEEPE-KE-PUL…Bridges made out by tying peepe or big plastic cylinders that remain afloat….🌉🌉
During night… MELA-GROUND is wake with lights, dholakas, bhajans, kirtans and once in every while announcement of children and people lost…

This whole Sub-town is created out of no -where…and functions
